I have started watching the first few episodes , .. jury's still out for now .. three episodes in and I'm still watching.

Although today's episode was a HUGE disappointment, the story of course, not the women !!

Spar...was too sure of himself.  Didn't want to listen to his trainer.  Needed to be brought down a peg or two and will bring himself up from the bottom.  It's what will get all of the masses to like him and the Imperials to despise him.  Not a bad episode yet, imo.

Good grief. Can't SOMETHING on this site be politics-free? <groan>?

Spartacus is great eye candy. Very stunning production. But it pales in comparison to HBO's Rome. I don't think I'll ever get used to the Scottish Caprian in Spartacus. I keep expecting him to say: "If it's not Etruscan, its crap!"

In Rome, they were extremely careful with dialect and accents. The aristos spoke the King's English. The plebes spoke cockney. Caesar's Goth valet had a German accent. And what they did with the stories -filling actual historical gaps with fiction - was masterful. They were also very careful with the accuracy of the sets, the technology, and the culture. Spartacus? Not so much. It's still good. But it's not great.

I don't get Starz.  How does this compare to 300 or Gladiator?
